Dr Karen WardConsultant Gynaecologist, Subspecialist in Urogynaecology
Urogynaecology: Female urinary incontinence and prolapse, Recurrent urinary tract infection, Bladder pain, Recurrent incontinence, Female voiding dysfunction.
Dr Ward trained at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne and qualified in 1990. Her Specialist Registrar training was based in the Northern Region.
She undertook a research post during which she co-ordinated a large national trial of surgery for female incontinence surgery (UK & Ireland TVT Colposuspension trial) and has published work from this study. Her sub-specialty training in Uro-gynaecology in Newcastle upon Tyne was completed in 2006.
She was a Consultant Uro-gynaecologist at Liverpool Women’s Hospital from 2006-2011. Whilst in Liverpool, She established a botox service for patients with overactive bladder.
She joined Saint Mary’s Hospital in 2011.
