Biography:

Dr Morris studied at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge and the Oxford School of Clinical Medicine. After training in General Paediatrics he undertook research on defects of mitochondrial oxidation. His PhD was supervised by Prof Turnbull in Newcastle and he completed his metabolic training at the Institute of Child Health, London. Andrew has worked on inborn errors of metabolism for 20 years and was Consultant and Senior Lecturer in Newcastle (1996-2001), Great Ormond Street Hospital, London (2001-3) and at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital and Saint Mary’s Hospital (since 2003). He is currently Lead Clinician for Paediatric Metabolic Medicine in the Willink Unit. In addition to providing a clinical service he is active in teaching and research, primarily on disorders of fatty acid oxidation and the mitochondrial respiratory chain.
