  • We Look After Each Other – Project Wingman

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) has recently welcomed Project Wingman to the Trust. Project Wingman is a charity that enables grounded aircrew to support NHS staff during the pandemic. Across the UK, 6,500 grounded airline crew offer their time, knowledge & skills to serve & support NHS staff, providing vital well-being initiatives. And we’ve been lucky enough to benefit from this amazing initiative!

The concept has been led by MFT’s Clinical Science Services (CSS) who worked with Project Wingman to deliver an ‘Executive Lounge’ Experience at the Oxford Road, Wythenshawe, North Manchester and Trafford sites.

The converted double decker, which has been at MFT for the last two weeks, allows CSS teams to take a relaxing break, chat with colleagues and enjoy refreshments in a different setting to their normal working environment.

Project Wingman is one part of the continued support MFT has provided to staff throughout the pandemic – which has culminated in health and wellbeing being marked as a key theme within our recently published MFT People Plan.

As a Trust, we strongly recognise the importance of keeping each other safe and well through our approach to work and the support services we provide to our teams. The below table illustrates our commitment to caring for our staff and providing the best working environment possible.
