You’ll be making a difference to the lives of people across the city of Manchester and Trafford, building trust and guiding patients to play a central role in managing their own health and care.

In this key role you will be pivotal in supporting the B7 Team Leader and manage a caseload of patients.  An essential requirement for this role is the completion of the Community Specialist Practitioner Programme.  Utilising your excellent communication skills, you will be supporting a team of nurses to provide high standards of care through education, supervision and development.

Join us as a Community Staff Nurse to deliver clinical excellence in the community, providing safe, effective care in a range of clinical conditions for patients with multiple care needs to optimise health and wellbeing and ensure improved outcomes for patients.

You can join as a newly qualified or experienced staff nurse, and you’ll be supported and mentored to develop your skills to through the Community Specialist Practitioner Programme.

Since joining MFT as a Trainee Nursing Associate I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the support that both the Trust but more importantly, my team has offered, making me feel at home from day, never being viewed as a junior member of the team.  In short, everyone is always approachable and everyone’s opinion matters.

For me, the best part of the job is having such a wide case load, so no two days are ever the same and the huge reward being able to advocate for vulnerable people within my community of North Manchester.

I joined the District Nursing Team when I was looking for a change in my career and the diversity and variety on offer working at MFT in Manchester has given me that, which means I really love my role.

Part of that is thanks to the great team I work in and the support we offer each other, but it’s also down to our patients – they all really appreciate what District Nurses offer them.

Even though MFT is the largest Trust in the country,  it’s refreshing to be able to constantly make both big and small changes to the way we work to meet the local needs in our neighbourhood. We work collaboratively with our services and strive to maintain great communication amongst each, resulting in excellent patient person centred care and ensuring their experience is the best it can be.

During my training as a student Nurse,  I completed all of my training in South Manchester and was fortunate to have a placement within the Community setting, and that’s where my passion for District Nursing started.

Since qualifying as a District Nurse, I’m enjoying being a leader and overcoming challenges which I would normally shy away from. I feel empowered to use my voice to ensure patients receive the best care possible. I’m excited to take the experience I’ve gathered so far to establish a role that researches and supports people across the region that suffer from gambling related harm.

For me, one of the best parts of being a part of MFT is the city centre location; it provides me with a varied type of patient, different from what I may experience working closer to home.

I enjoy seeing my patients in their homes, where they feel safe and secure, being out and about and working with the wider Community Services to ensure every patient receives excellent care.
