Read up
Before applying, make sure you read everything relevant. Dive into the Job Description and Person Specification and explore our broader careers site too. This way you’ll know whether your skills and experience match the role and whether your values and commitment to diversity and inclusion are the same as ours.
Checking everything
Make sure everything in your application is accurate before sending it to us. Check your details are spot on, and double-check your spelling, punctuation, and grammar. If there’s someone who can proofread your application, even better.
Sell yourself
There’ll be competition for the Nursing Assistant and/or Maternity Support Worker roles. So, when writing your application, it’s important you sell yourself to us. Think about things that make you stand out as a candidate, providing examples of how you match the key skills and experience that is outlined in the Person Specification. Tell us what excites you about the job and our organisation and what you hope to get out of a career here. It’s always easier to write your statement in a Word document first so you can have a play around with how best to word this section and then simply copy and paste your wording into the ‘Supporting Statement’ section for ease.
Provide examples
In your interview, our team will ask you questions about your skills, experience, and values so we can assess how well suited you’d be to provide amazing care and support to our patients and their families.
Come with some great examples in your head that brings all this to life. The important thing is to be memorable so that you stand out to those interviewing you!
Provide references
Good referees can make a world of difference to your application. If you have work-based or personal referees, include them. It’s important you make sure their contact details are accurate and up to date.
