Nominated Governor for an Academic Institution

I am Professor of Health Sciences within the School of Medical Sciences, Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health at the University of Manchester.  Previously, as Head of the Division of Dentistry, I have worked closely with the Trust to ensure undergraduate and postgraduate dental and hygiene therapy students receive high quality training whilst providing excellent patient care.

I am passionate about undertaking and promoting rigorous research that improves people’s health and wellbeing and reduces disparities. I am also keen that our local communities help shape the research we undertake to ensure we’re addressing health issues that matter to them.
