Chartered Society of Physiotherapists Pre-Doctoral Scheme
This scheme is available to novice researchers, supported by one or more experienced supervisors. Up to £50,000 funding available for individual projects. Up to 3 awards per funding round. Two funding rounds per year.

Pre-doctoral research funding for Nurses and Midwives
Wellbeing of Women, Entry-level Research Scholarships (ELS)
These scholarships provide successful candidates with up to £20,000 for research lasting normally up to one year. Awards are intended to provide ‘pump-priming’ funds to enable midwives to be exposed to a research environment and to obtain pilot data that will enhance an application for a research fellowship (PhD or MD).

Wellbeing of Women, Barbers' Company Clinical Nursing Scholarship
Support fees or subsistence of a registered nurse/midwife undertaking a Masters or PhD programme (relevant to nursing/midwifery) in an academic department in the United Kingdom. The award is specifically intended for nurses/midwives in, or planning to return to, clinical practice.

Wellbeing of Women-British Gynaecological Cancer Society Partnership Entry Level Scholarships (ELS)
Offers a variety of new awards for HCP researchers, of up to £20,000 for research lasting up to 12 months. Funds are for directly incurred research costs and may include a salary contribution. Applicants must be members of the BGCS, and research undertaken in the UK.

Offers two funding tracks:
Funds dedicated time to prepare an application for a competitive, peer-reviewed doctoral level research training fellowship and personalised programmes of training.

Designed for fellows with a research master’s level qualification (or evidence of postgraduate study at level 7) who aspire to undertake a Doctoral Clinical and Practitioner Academic Fellowship (DCAF), or similar opportunity.

Alzheimer’s Society Pre-doctoral clinical bursary
This bursary offers funding of up to £30,000 for a period of up to six months part-time to cover reasonable salary and research costs for an HCP to gather preliminary data and decide whether they would like to pursue a PhD in dementia research.
