Dr Denis Colligan
Manchester Health and Care Commissioning
Nominated Governor for Commissioning
Originally from Gateshead in the North East of England, I headed south to study medicine in Manchester in 1980 – and stayed here. After completing my medical training, I worked in various hospitals in the region and I also worked and travelled in New Zealand.
In 1991, I became a GP in North Manchester, working in the same practice now for 27 years. I also work for Macmillan Cancer Support one day a week and I’m a board member of MHCC and I feel the experiences and skills that I have gained from these roles will be beneficial in my MFT Governor role.
I live in Didsbury with my wife who is a speech and language therapist. We have three grown-up children and I play football every week, organise the park run in Platt Fields most weekends and I’m a church warden.
Term of Office: 3 Years – Ending at 2021 Annual/Special Members’ Meeting
