Dr Michael Kelly
Public Governor (Manchester)
Public Governor for Manchester Constituency
Term of Office: 3 Years – Ending at 2020 Annual/Special Members’ Meeting
Attendance at meetings, actively listening and participating in discussions, and speaking up to ensure the interests of members and the wider public are heard, is a key duty of a Governor and I have been working hard to achieve this for several years in my former role as a Governor.
From 2000 to 2017, I have also been a member of several forums representing the voice of patients, including the Clinical Commissioning Group’s Patient & Public Advisory Group.
As a Governor, I have been fully involved in the discussions to develop a Single Hospital Service for Manchester and I believe that Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, through its hospitals, can greatly enhance the services that are offered to the citizens of Manchester and Greater Manchester.
I’m keen to contribute to this task through the effective listening, questioning and communication skills that I have developed as an advocate for the public and patients across Manchester.
