Staff Governor (Nursing and Midwifery)
Staff Governor for Nursing and Midwifery
Term of Office: 2 Years – Ending at 2019 Annual/Special Members’ Meeting
I want to contribute to ensuring that the people of Manchester (and beyond) continue to get the very best nursing care that our new Trust has to offer. I also appreciate that these are challenging times and feel that we should also consider the most resourceful and pragmatic approaches to enhancing care.
I’ve worked at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital since qualifying as a nurse over 25 years ago. I presently work as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner within ophthalmic care.
I‘ve had opportunities to shine and progress within my own career and wanted to repay some of that conviction and commitment by becoming a Governor. As a nurse at the frontline of patient care, I also appreciate the needs, aspirations and pressures of the MFT workforce.
As a Governor, I will work hard to represent my peers, and constructively challenge and scrutinise the Board’s new vision and future aspirations in order to continually improve and streamline care for patients.
