Public Governor (Manchester)

Public Governor for Manchester Constituency

I have lived, brought up children and worked in Wythenshawe   I have experience of being a patient, carer, staff member and volunteer at MFT, providing me with a unique insight into the Trust.

Having retired from the Trust as a former clerical worker, I have built up a range of skills which I feel will be beneficial to the role of Governor.  These skills are also supported by the experience I have gained from the volunteer work I have supported throughout my life which has included, as a classroom assistant in a school, offering support at a hospice, bereavement services and in dementia care.

In my first term as a public governor for Manchester, I plan to utilise my skills in compassion, active listening and problem solving to both represent members alongside seek assurances from the Non-Executive Directors on their behalf Other key areas of focus for me in the Governor role is supporting the Trust in championing activities and schemes to ensure everyone is cared for in the best possible way and progressing staff wellbeing initiatives.
