The laboratory provides cervical screening results to over 1500 locations and the majority of these, around 90%, receive their results electronically. The result is sent to a nominated destination within the practice to ensure all reports are seen and actioned. A number of these practices are still in receipt of a paper copy 'back-up' reports.
Over the next 12 months, and in line with the Trust policy to reduce paper use and postage costs, the laboratory will contact any practice still in receipt of paper copy reports to determine if there are any issues that need to be addressed, following this paper copy reports will be ceased. Relevant practices will be contacted in the next few months.
