Tom Rafferty

Tom began his career on the NHS Graduate Management Training scheme in 2006, following which he worked in operational roles at acute providers in Bristol and London. He has held a series of national policy and strategy roles, including a secondment at the Department of Health as Head of Provider Strategy.
Tom moved back into the provider sector as Head of Strategy at Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust before moving to Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust in 2018. He has held his current substantive role of Director of Strategy for the past 6 years, working across a range of our Clinical Groups. In 2023/24, Tom led the work to develop our current MFT strategy Where Excellence Meets Compassion.
