Occasionally a clinician investigating a child’s hearing problems requests that his/her stored newborn screening sample is retrieved from storage and sent to the virology department for CMV testing.
In order for us to release the sample, we require a consent form signed by the child’s parent, as well as the child’s details including those at the time of sample collection if they have changed e.g. address, name.
