The laboratory uploads data to the Newborn Blood Spot Failsafe Solution each working day.
A sample received (01) message is usually uploaded to the Failsafe system the same day or the day after arrival in the lab, depending on the number of samples received each day. Results are usually uploaded to the Failsafe daily. Results are reported to the relevant Child Health Department within four working days of receipt but in practice this often occurs two days after receipt.
