Term of Office: 12 months (ending at the Council of Governors’ Meeting scheduled for 5th November 2019).
After training as a nurse at the Manchester Royal Infirmary, I worked in the NHS and Charitable Health Care sector for over 35 years. Prior to retirement, for the latter part of my career I worked in senior management within the hospice sector.
As a former Governor for several years, I’ve been committed to ensuring equitable and high standards of care for patients and their carers and families at all stages of life. I have also been actively involved as a Governor with the Single Hospital Service programme.
As a resident of Manchester, with friends and family accessing all types of services across all hospitals, I believe that the new hospital structure provides great opportunities to further improve care for all our communities. I will continue to put to use my past work and Governor experience in my role as a Governor for Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.
