Term of Office: 1 Year – Ending at November 2020 Council of Governors’ Meeting
After training as a Nurse at the Manchester Royal Infirmary, I worked in the NHS and Charitable Health Care sector for over 35 years. For the latter part of my career, I worked in senior management as a Chief Executive within the hospice sector.
As a Governor for several years, I have been committed to ensuring equitable and high standards of care for patients, their carers and families at all stages of life. Working closely with my fellow Governors to advocate this, on behalf of patients, prompted me to stand for election as MFT’s Lead Governor.
I recognise that the Council of Governors has important statutory duties and responsibilities and as Lead Governor, I am committed to supporting, advising and representing my fellow Governors so that we effectively fulfil our duties and continue to develop as a team, working collaboratively together.
In recent years, the Trust has experienced challenges alongside accomplishing amazing achievements, and as Lead Governor, I believe it is crucial for the Council of Governors to support the Trust to be the very best that it can be and continue to support my Governor colleagues to actively, and collectively, represent the views and interests of members and the public.
