Professor Luke Georghiou
Professor Luke Georghiou is the University of Manchester’s Deputy President and Deputy Vice-Chancellor. He joined MFT with effect from 1st June and will be an influential leader both with the University and our wider stakeholders and partners across Greater Manchester. Graduating from the University of Manchester, he pursued a research career in policy and management of science and technology and has had a number of advisory roles with the UK and foreign governments. In 2004 when the two Manchester Universities announced a merger, Luke was encouraged to take his first management leadership role as Associate Dean and was elected to the Board of Governors as a Staff representative. In 2010, he then became Vice President for Research and Innovation, a key role helping the University to drive forward its research agenda, business engagement and commercialisation agendas prior to his current Deputy President and Deputy Vice-Chancellor role.
